Why I Play Rugby: I played four Varsity sports in High School and have always been competitive. I decided to give rugby a try (pun intended) in Fall '23 and have fallen in love with the competitive nature of the game, the strategy behind it, and the brotherhood that is UMBC Men's Club Rugby.

Fun Fact: I am a former Junior Olympic Athlete in Track & Field, and hold the mile record at Aberdeen High School with a time of 4:30.

Why I Play Rugby: I play rugby because it’s so much more than just a game to me. It gives me amazing social opportunities, where I get to meet people from all walks of life and build lasting friendships. It keeps me in great physical health, pushing my limits and keeping me strong and agile. Rugby is about community—a sense of belonging and shared purpose that’s hard to find elsewhere. On top of that, I’ve built lifelong brothers with my teammates, guys I know will always have my back. And what I love most is the equal opportunities—everyone gets their moment with the ball, no matter the position, making it a sport that’s truly for everyone.

Why I Play Rugby: I play rugby because it has shaped who I am today mentally and physically. I have met some incredible people through this sport who have inspired me to not only continue playing, but reach goals I would not have thought of. The brotherhood and relationships that rugby has given me has been life changing and motivates me to always give back to my team to be the best I can be on the field and as a friend. Rugby has shown me that no matter your background or experience, we can come together as a team and focus on our goals of winning and improving each other as players and people.
